چکیده

This paper examines the asymptotic behavior of solutions of a simple network model using feedback control under the presence of delays. It shows numerically the existence of complex asymptotic behavior dependent on both parameter values and initial conditions. The presence of multiple asymptotic periodic orbits of different characteristics at the same parameter values indicates that the interaction of asymptotic behavior with parameter ranges and initial histories is an extremely delicate matter.

Congestion Control Approaches Applied to Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a specific category of wireless ad-hoc networks where their performance is highly affected by application, life time, storage capacity, processing power, topology changes, the communication medium and bandwidth. These limitations necessitate an effective data transport control in WSNs considering quality of service, energy efficiency, and congestion control. ...

Congestion Avoidance in Computer Networks with a Connectionless Network Layer, Part I: Concepts, Goals and Methodology

Congestion is said to occur in the network when the resource demands exceed the capacity and packets are lost due to too much queuing in the network. During congestion, the network throughput may drop to zero and the path delay may become very high. A congestion control scheme helps the network to recover from the congestion state. A congestion avoidance scheme allows a network to operate in th...

Architectural Issues for Multicast Congestion Control

As multicast applications are becoming more common, multicast congestion control has become an important problem. In this paper, we present an architecture for multicast congestion control schemes. We identify three components that constitute this architecture: namely, the feedback consolidation mechanism, the round-trip time measurement mechanism, and the loss detection and timeout mechanism. ...

Stability Analysis of the Rate-Based Congestion Control Algorithm for ABR Service Class in ATM Networks

A rate-based congestion control algorithm is a feedback-based flow control mechanism for ABR (Available Bit Rate) service class. When the operation of the rate-based congestion control algorithm becomes unstable, it would cause several problems; fairness among connections is deteriorated, and QoS (Quality of Service) of ABR service class becomes unpredictable. In this paper, we analyze the dyna...

VRED: An improvement over RED algorithm by using queue length growth velocity

Active Queue Management (AQM) plays an important role in the Internet congestion control. It tries to enhance congestion control, and to achieve tradeoff between bottleneck utilization and delay. Random Early Detection (RED) is the most popular active queue management algorithm that has been implemented in the in Internet routers and is trying to supply low delay and low packet loss. RED al...
